de-pres-sion
Feelings of severe despondency and dejection.
‘self-doubt creeps in and that swiftly turns to depression’

Both Dani and I suffer from depression, along with anxiety, bipolar disorder, and eating disorders.
Let me tell you. NONE of these things are fun. Even though these things are hard, we have still found multiple methods to cope. Some good, some bad. Journaling, music, writing, and photography.
How does photography help?
Capturing the world in beautiful images helps release stress. We can represent our feelings through the art of photography.
There are some people who are unable to see the beauty in just simple pictures. However, as one of the main photographers in The Holy Trinity, I have really learned to appreciate the art behind photography. Whether the pictures aren't interesting to others or boring to another's eye they mean something personal to the photographer behind them. A picture can hold a thousand words, while it might say one thing to you it can say another to someone else. Photography can capture one's feelings, emotions, thoughts, and words so it's never right to judge. Our photos mean something deeply to us and that part of why it can help us release our stress. When stress builds up it can cause one to break down and sometimes go into a depressive state so when that happens to me or Dani we use photography to get rid of any bottled-up emotions we have stored.
